Thesis topic: Personalizing mobile apps with LLMs - Inferring user intent from interaction logs
Want to explore how to personalize mobile apps with LLMs? Join us for your master's thesis!
Are you a final-year master’s student looking for a thesis project that blends real-world impact with cutting-edge tech?
At Framna, we are passionate about creating digital products that shape markets and make everyday life better - and we want you to be part of it.
Every year, we welcome a group of master’s students into our Stockholm studio to spend their final semester with us. You will sit alongside our developers, designers, testers, analysts, and product delivery leads, get a place to sit in our cozy office, and join our social and learning activities - from lunch-and-learns to our weekly Friday demos and AWs. It is a chance to do your thesis in a collaborative setting, surrounded by people who are happy to share what they know.
Background
Modern mobile apps generate vast amounts of analytics data, capturing taps, scroll positions and user flows. Hidden within these logs are valuable patterns that reveal what users want to achieve - but extracting and interpreting these patterns in real time is challenging.
Large language models open up new opportunities for understanding sequential user behavior. By parsing and summarizing interaction logs and other relevant data, an LLM could infer individual user intents and enable a highly personalized app experience.
This project explores how LLMs can transform raw analytics into actionable personalization strategies in real time.
What you will do
Some potential tasks within this thesis include:
- Extracting, cleaning, and parsing mobile analytics logs into structured formats
- Investigating and evaluating methods for using LLMs to interpret logs, including summarization and intent inference
- Comparing different LLM-based approaches and/or other alternative solutions
- Building a proof-of-concept pipeline that demonstrates how interaction logs can be transformed into a format consumable by an LLM at app startup for personalization
Who you are
This thesis may suit you if you:
- Enjoy working with AI/ML
- Want to explore personalization and human–computer interaction
- Like the idea of building both models and prototypes, not just theory
- Plan to start your master’s thesis project in January 2026
- Have the opportunity to work from our Stockholm studio
